It's 2025, and JIRA is still clunky

I’ve been dragged back into Jira after five years of bliss with Linear, and it’s rough.

The backlog view is a mess—click the ticket ID, and you get details; click anywhere else, and you get a sidebar. Who thought that was a good idea? Wasted screen space everywhere, clunky UI, and it feels like I’m using software from a decade ago.

Every agile coach wants to use it to measure velocity, but if I’m spending more time wrestling with the tool than getting work done, that velocity is going straight to zero. I'll go back to stick-it notes and a whiteboard before I use this thing.
